 Here’s what I did to reproduce the issue:

 Edited an existing post, including a "Read More" link in the content area.
 Enabled the Excerpt field in a Custom Post Type and updated a post by
 adding an excerpt.
 Despite these actions, the JSON response continued to display the full
 content under the "content" key. The custom post type had show_in_rest set
 to true as well.

 Could you walk me through any additional steps or specific configurations
 you might have used? This would help in pinpointing the exact problem.
