 I attempted to replicate the issue as follows:

 Edited an existing post and added a "Read More" link in the content.
 Modified a Custom Post Type, enabled the Excerpt field, and updated the
 post by adding an excerpt.
 In both cases, the JSON response still returned the full content under the
 "content" key. The only variation was that I used my custom post type with
 the show_in_rest parameter set to true.

 Could you please provide additional steps or clarify the exact conditions
 under which you're encountering the issue?
