 Felix, https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/3319 bundles a
 couple of things, and it's not clean by the commit message what it does. I
 can't speak about the code you mention, but in case it helps, the original
 PR is at https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/42005
