I would like to see a search option for plugins where I could filter out 

Plugins that are for older versions or have not been updated in a while.  

I can determine if they are any good, but I would like to filter those that are for 2.6 or have been abandoned.

How ever some plugins, such as members only, still work for exactly what I want them to do and are older

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/members-only/  is what I use to keep a development site private and is for version 2.6.2
