Personally, I don't see a huge need to shut it down. I'd sure like to see
the links in forum posts nofollow'd though.

Technically, I'll have to explore the bbPress admin features. I'm not sure I
(admin level) have the option to much beyond completely remove or add
forums. Making one read-only doesn't seem to be an option. However, maybe
that's an option for the automattic folks with higher privs.

I'll try to put more thought into a more coherent reply after the current
religious holiday weekend winds down.
