Ah, so there must be something more important disabled? Surely blocking
ability to view profiles and topics won't prevent spam? Profile blocking a
side-effect?  (it's actually blocking our ability to moderate spam!) Or
could we let mods see profiles? Yeah, I'm close to begging with a side of
whine...

Well, we'll just bumble along then. Anything that might stop the flood of
spam is certainly worth trying. I just need a way to "research" the
corresponding (yet smaller) flood of false positives in the akismet queue.
