Hmm.  You may choose to see it that way, but I've never considered it a 
democracy, or even a republic come to that.  It's basically a privately-held 
support forum for an open source AND free product (they aren't necessarily the 
same thing of course), where those of us who, I guess, need an outlet for our 
"giving natures".

I agree that statements of fact would be nice, user policies or whatever.  The 
powers that be don't even provide something of that nature however on 
wordpress.com, so it's not real likely to happen for the support forum.

I'm really sorry this particular thing seems to be getting your goat.  I note 
your somewhat sarcastic reply to my statement about backlinks etc.  While 
perhaps that's not YOUR need, it would be for the thousands of others who DO 
live and die by pagerank and backlinks - and who would run rampant with sigs if 
we started allowing them.

And of course, because I help out on the forum regardless (when not buried under 
clients from hell that is) if the "sig climate" changes I will still continue to 
do so (unless asked to get the hell out, natch....) - even though I think 
rampant sig-itis will make dealing with forum posts much more difficult.  The 
scrolling for one thing....
