[wp-pro] $5 permalink question (wordpress 2.1 to wordpress 2.5)

I am willing to upgrade one of my blog from wordpress 2.1.x to wordpress
2.5, while upgrading my permalinks are getting change automatically while
keeping the same setting in wordpres settings/perma links.
