The Automattic acquisition has no bearing on how the plugin is supported, sold, or operated. However, with regards to the thread itself, I'd honestly recommend redirecting them over to https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce



The OP is right that the "official" support forum is a bit slow, but the community forum definitely isn't, and the OP is likely to reach more people who know the plugin there.
