Comment:

 The attached patch uses logic previously applied in #669 and #727, as well
 as the idea that kingler proposed.

 The underscore needs to be included in the LIKE query, however the
 underscore is a wildcard in MySQL (see #727) so it must be escaped.

 I haven't tested this very much though. Can someone verify that it works
 correctly?
