 When I first ran into this on wordpress.com I was fully prepared to hack
 up XML-RPC to properly support blog_id everywhere.  The problem I ran into
 wasn't on the WP side, it was the API specs.  To make a long story short,
 there are some XML-RPC methods that WP supports that don't include blog_id
 as a parameter.  Which shot down the whole idea.

 I agree that it isn't a great solution, but so far it is the only way I've
 found to ensure the correct behavior.  And I'd much rather have correct
 behavior than to be elegant with completely wrong behavior.  So far that
 has worked for wordpress.com.
