 Here's an improved function for generating random passwords.  The old one
 used only hex digits and was a fixed length.  This one accepts a length
 parameter and uses most letters and numbers (excluding those easily
 confused like 0, L and 1).  It also alternates between keys typed with the
 left and right hands for faster entry.
