[wp-ui] Why are we using a maillist?

The standard argument that I usually use for these things is that mailing
lists are 'push' and forums are 'pull'.

I *will* read my email several times a day. But with the best will in the
world, I *will not* visit a forum several times a day to to see what the
latest conversations are (I might intend to, but I know it never happens).

And whilst I know that's sort of what RSS feeds are for, I still only check
my feed reader every couple of days on average.
