The standard argument that I usually use for these things is that mailing lists are 'push' and forums are 'pull'.<div><br></div><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><div>I *will* read my email several times a day. But with the best will in the world, I *will not* visit a forum several times a day to to see what the latest conversations are (I might intend to, but I know it never happens).</div>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><div><br></div><div>And whilst I know that's sort of what RSS feeds are for, I still only check my feed reader every couple of days on average.</div>
