 This is all very deep in the weeds, there's no need to apologize for not
 having a complete understanding.

 In the current state, it would not affect taxonomies as the rooms and
 updates are stored in the post meta so do not touch taxonomies/terms.

 However, it's likely we'll be going with a custom table.
