Comment (by SirLouen):

@michaelorlitzky today this topic came back to my head.

Isn't it annoying the fact that WordPress sends an automatic email every
time a new version has been auto-updated or a plugin is in automatic
update mode and updates? Users don't really have an option to disable
either of these two things, and it's clearly a front-line feature that
feels like a take it or leave it.

This is not strictly related to this thread, but it's an interesting side-
effect to think about. That strange nature of WP of having a ton of
 options behind hundreds of filters.

In fact, I cannot understand how the AI team has managed to get a full
Options menu for something that is a perfect scenario for a couple of
filter hooks, like adding the respective API keys in hooks like
 `api_key_antrophic`, `api_key_openai`,…

And even better, the menu has gone straight up to the second position in
Options, just before `General` ready to drop in 7.0.

What can I say? On one side I agree with you that a field should be there
to configure the From since it's around 10 times more important than this
AI hype, but on the other side, since 99% of the options (like the super-
annoying auto-update emails), this `From` doesn't deserve the visible
 field.

The problem is that the bureaucrats of these Core sections, have the power
to hinder these proposals, but they can't hinder other areas like AI
because those guys have much more power in this project than them, so they
have to bow their heads and accept the new changes with unease. It's like
 a game of thrones. ;)

Personally, I would be happy with closing this ticket at this point.
