 It seems like [60226] via #47733 addresses part of the originally reported
 issue here by avoiding the PHP notice. It seems like a fallback might
 still need to be provided to solve this issue completely though? I haven't
 dug deep, I just noticed @SergeyBiryukov's commit. :)
