 Thank you. The tick box issue is resolved now thanks to a plugin linked on
 the WordPress Forums by other people having the same trouble, which
 restore the functionality. Basic icons in the status bar at the top of the
 page are still mising in the dashboard, though (again, see linked video
 for example).

 Not sure if anyone intends to look into the layout of the actual website
 where the menu seems to overlay on the content, making both hard to
 read/use?
