 Hi and welcome to WordPress Core Trac!

 The checkboxes issue is already tracked in #64350. You can still use the
 checkbox to select themes and plugins to update, though the checked state
 is not currently visible in unsupported browsers. You could also visit the
 Themes and Plugins screens to update them individually without checkboxes.

 The [https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/testing/reporting-bugs/
 Reporting Bugs handbook page] relies on a [https://developer.mozilla.org
 /en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Reference/Properties/--*#browser_compatibility custom
 CSS property] inside a `calc()` function, and the browser seems too old to
 support even that.
