 ^ Agree with the above.

 Plus, these mentioned places in core don't deal with hundreds of thousands
 of array items thousands of times. So any change there would be a micro
 optimization that you don't notice on a regular site.

 Without actual numbers in a real life scenario I'm inclined to close this
 as wontfix.
