 Here is a quick fix - I have reduced the headers directory in twentyten
 down from 459k down to 217k, '''representing an overall saving of 242k'''.

 The images have been re-compressed, with negligible loss in quality. A
 slightly better image quality could be achieved by compressing from the
 original source images, rather than already compressed JPEG's.

 For thank kind of saving (and for WordPress users to have that much choice
 from install), I think it's fair to sacrifice a-little image quality. Of-
 course, if a couple of header images were dropped from the selection -
 that would represent a good saving too!
