 Agreed on buttons - I'll do some work on that this week.

 RE development of the bars: This new bg is now moving away from the
 previous block-colour and is using a subtle gradient + two built in 1px
 borders (top and bottom). I've created a 1px by 46px PNG8 image which I'll
 attach after this message, this should fit inside the exact dimensions of
 the current #wphead.

 This can repeat-x both for both bars, however #wphead will require an
 additional border-bottom:#fff 1px solid; to complete the look :)
