And in my opinion it is more likely to costomize a theme by using a real
editor.

I think this shouldn't be changed - if one first installs Wordpress he'll
like to find the themes page first and the more complex ones later.
If he "falls" over the theme editor before being able to change the theme
this isn't good.

I wouldn't change this. There is enoght change going on with this release.
