[wp-polyglots] 2.9: Loss of translation for certain plugins

Hello everyone (and, mostly, Nikolay),

A couple (knowledgeable) French users have reported failures in their
plugins' translations since ther update to 2.9.

Most notably:
  - Codestyling Localization
  - Subscribe2
  - the LesterChan plugins

It seems that themes are also impacted.

I have yet to know if these themes/plugins either:
  - are translated directly
  - use WP's strings (which might be an explanation)
  - use their own po/mo

I'm gathering information, but am still launching this bottle to the sea... :)
