[wp-polyglots] Translation of Classic Theme in 2.2

Hi list,

I have noticed, that we are now supposed to hard translate some strings in
the Classic Theme. Any particular reason?

I have found the lines around "Logged in" information in comments.php and
comments-popup.php to not be gettexted. I think the theme gettext policy is
getting pretty messy if some strings are gettexted and others aren't in the
same theme. A fault I guess?

Could someone with the skills please file a ticket?
