[wp-polyglots] Translation help

I have just recently downloaded the POT file for wp5.1 and translated the af_ZA.po file and then generated the .mo file.  While many of the messages appear correctly on the interface I still see many english messages that I have translated appear there as well, especially the installation messages are still in English.  Anybody had a similar problem who could give some advice?
