[wp-hackers] Managing Multiple WP Sites

It's really not that hard.

Install WordPress at site1.com

Turn on Multisite.

Your sites will INITIALLY be site1.com/site2 (or site2.site1.com), don't panic.

Then you install Domain Mapping plugins (the free one from wp.org is great, works perfectly).

Park the domain site2.com on top of site1.com, and map it via the plugin to site1.com/site2 (whatever).

That's. It. The hardest part is getting the domain parked, but once you do that, the rest is a cake walk.

See it in action:
ipstenu.org
halfelf.org (which is 'secretly' tech.ipstenu.org)

If you need more help with that, there are the forums :)

I've been googling around and seem to have a hard time finding one that "reliably" works as some would point out that the "steps" doesn't work on their install or some articles don't make it clear whether the end result domains would end up as site1.com, site2.com and site3.com, etc. Most of the articles I found used WP MU in some way.
