Just don't use any of the terrible, terrible cheap hacks found in that
plugin. Do as I say, not as I do, or something like that. :-)

Most of the time, look at the author. Plugins by any core developer (Mark,
Peter, Dion...), Otto, Ozh, scribu, Austin (filosofo), Jon (duck_), and many
others will all be solid plugins that are well-written (and usually
well-documented.)
