Because you want something to go mainstream (for purposes that this
tag was not created for, no less) is not a reason why this should be
placed on every WordPress site. Besides, the majority of the time and
the way this tag is being suggested on being implemented, this tag is
going to be pointing to the current URL, which isn't helpful at all.
There should at least be a check to see if the requested URL is
already the correct one, before adding this tag.
