Cool. Hopefully you can pull out whatever might work for you from mine
to help in your efforts.

For what it's worth, I'm currently using this on my blog with two
sidebars (sandbox based 3 column theme w/ left and right sidebars) and
it seems to work fine. I don't recall making any mods to my personal
copy after releasing the one I published, but it's possible that I did
and just forgot.

It's been a while since I had time to do any plugin dev / maintenance,
so I may not get around to updating it anytime soon. It sounds like
you may be looking to do something different enough to be a separate
plugin, but in case you want to "fork" off of mine I'll gladly refer
people to yours going forward.
