Bad Behavior works fine on GoDaddy shared hosting. I used to use it myself.

That said, I stopped using it because I found that it was no longer
particularly effective. I switched to Simple Trackback Validator for
preventing a lot of incoming trackback spam, and that has helped
considerably.
