[wp-hackers] WordPress and GPLv3

I am very much against the GPLv3 in general, and its application to
WordPress in specific. I do not and will not use GPLv3 software in any
way for any of my work related projects because the GPLv3 poses a much
greater liability risk than GPLv2 software does.
So I would recommend that extremely serious thought be put into any
attempts by the community in general and Automattic in specific before
attempting to convert WordPress to the GPLv3. There are serious
compatibility issues (the GPLv3 is far, far less compatible than the
GPLv2 is with many other forms of licensing), as well as serious
consequences with regards to use (I am not the only company that has
forbidden all use of any GPLv3 software due to the extreme legal
issues).
The GPLv3 is, in my opinion, a travesty. It is neither necessary nor
desirable, and frankly, the FSF has lost my support in everything is
does because of their insane adherence to it.
