Bah, you're right.  That's not fun.  I guess I'll just do it the ugly  
way (the svn rm * way) myself on my own SVN server.  Actually, that's  
not a bad idea anyway, because I can bundle commonly-used plugins in  
the repository as well, and those will be automatically updated for  
clients.
