Ahhh, but see, you're making the classic mistake of assuming that you're
dealing with 1) rational actors who 2) read documentation. I don't know
how much time you've spent in the corporate world, but those are both
highly specious claims to make in any company with over 10 full-time
employees. *grin*
It's a plain and simple fact: Users. Don't. Read. One has to hand-hold
through the muddy valleys of actual use cases in order to get 'em to the
grassy fields of self-sufficiency whose wide vistas and uncharted
territories oftentimes frighten users to such an extent that they're
still unwilling to venture off on their own or (Quel shock! Quel
horreur!) enter a search string into Google to find their own darn answers.
And, if anyone's interested, I have a whole closet full of cynicism at
home that I can put up on eBay, because I certainly can't use it all.
*chuckle*
