[wp-hackers] Suggested Merge of post.php and page.php

As the title says..... the only difference is what happens after you
press post: where it goes.
As far as the SQL goes, it's a single field that is different..
meaning there is a lot of redundant code between the two.

I don't know if this has been discussed before (sorry in advance if it
has), just wondering if that would be a possible
de-bloating/optimizing course of action :-)

(plus we could easily change post to page in that way!!)
