But in the options in wp-admin I tried unchecking "notify linked
sites" to stop it from pingin any linked sites. Its not on my
automatic ping list, beause I can make any other post OK. Anyway, I
only have technorati and pingoat (an EXCELLENT pingomatic replacement
that has more sites and is always up and fast) in that list......

I really hate to do it, but it seems that Brian's suggestion is the
only thing that would work... But t just doesn't make any sense
becuase I can post OK at home... but then again, my IIS server doesn't
have internet access ATM... maybe it is the pings and WP isn't
honoring that option? I don't know, esp. because its being saved as a
draft, and hence *shouldn't* ping anyone no matter what.
