Wow, that's fantastic!  I'm guessing that he's doing  the zipping of the 
tags/branches himself.  I've been doing that manually (pain in the 
butt).  It would really be nice for download.wp-plugins.org to have 
this.  There could even be a "stable" branch that is downloaded by 
default, if it exists, instead of /trunk/.  I don't really want people 
downloading from /trunk/ unless they REALLY know what they're doing.
