As an aside to this discussion, I'm wondering why support is provided at 
all commercial themes? My hunch is that most of the themes people will 
find with obfuscated code will be commercial ones. If that is the case, 
I'm wondering if it would be better to place a blanket statement that 
says the WordPress.org Theme Support forum will not provide support for 
any commercial theme. I think the decoding service is definitely worthy 
for free themes that were downloaded from a shady distribution place 
which is why I'm also suggesting a sticky post that has a list of known 
safe places to get free themes since the bad places FAR outweigh the good.

Education wouldn't hurt so I wonder if there can also be a detailed 
reminder post on WordPress.org that explains the issue of base64 being 
present in themes, what to do about them, why to avoid them, and links 
to reputable free theme sources.
