Sounds like a rationale approach. As for the Codex, it's not likely to 
become the end-all for WP info. Two reasons (among the many) are that 
people blog about tech issues regarding WP on their own blogs and don't 
sometimes have time or ambition to duplicate their work into the Codex; 
and sometimes decent info and help DOES get put into the Codex only to 
be edited out by some overzealous moderator who in some instances isn't 
exactly qualified to be passing such judgement (depending on the 
specific topic).
