Administrators can bozo a user account. Moderators can see the
effects; they can see bozos in the admin and they can see the posts
(should they choose to) in the front end of the site.

Whether or not that's the best setup can be debated :)

Moderators can mark a post as spam. Further posts by that author *in
that topic* will then be invisible to anyone (except moderators who
want to see such things). As I say, this is on a topic by topic
basis. Other posts by that author in other topics (even if that
other topic is in the same forum such as "Installation") will not be
effected.

Go here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/86772

Currently there are two posts. For those of you who have the
permissions (moderators and up), click "View All Posts" at the
bottom. You should see a third post by me which has been marked as
spam.

So marking a post as spam doesn't really *delete* it. It just hides
it (good thing too because the Akismet plugin should be automatically
marking some things as spam).

What the policy should be, I can't say. I am very interested to see
what action on a bad user works out best for various situations:
blocked, inactive, bozo, topic-by-topic spam....

They're all different. Blocked and Inactive users can tell if
they're blocked or inactive. Bozos and those marked as spam in a
certain topic can not tell.

Michael
