I'll gladly create a Codex article, "Forum Top 10 FAQ" or whatever you want
to call it. Then forum regulars can collaborate on the most important
questions to relay to Forum FAQ hunters.
I'll populate it with any FAQs suggested. If the FAQ is already in one of
the Codex FAQs, add it to the article or point me there and I'll put it in
Codex. Or point to a Forum thread that should be FAQtized.
Then just link to that Codex article and section when answering Forum
questions. Sadly, I don't believe the convention, [[Forum Top 10 FAQ]],
renders a correct Codex link anymore...
Having a set of current useful basic FAQs could improve the Forum 'product'.
Just after the 2.0 release, a
http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Forum_Hot_Topics article was created to
detail questions with answers to be copied and pasted into a Forum thread.
With that in mind, it might be profitable, for those Forum questions asked
repeatedly, to have a 'boiler-plate' response.
Sure, using a textbook response can be somewhat mundane, but it gives newer
Forum volunteers a tool to answer questions, and insures customers receive a
'vetted' response that is both consistent and correct.
Also, please note the articles in http://codex.wordpress.org/Category:Forum
for more Forum related topics in Codex.
