Right now we have Member / Moderator as adjacent 'levels' in the system.
That's a fair jump.
Arguably there could be a level in-between those but then we start to
decide who has what admin ability. But what we do have is custom
titles. So there is no hassle at all with changing someone's title.
There lies one way to 'reward' - a visible recognition to all.

The question would then arise as to who would get such a reward. I too
loathe those that post to up their stats. But we also don't need a
committee meeting.
We all have the best interests of WP in mind so why not start it off
by saying to each Mod - choose someone. Choose the person who you
think deserves this title - and it is done. No discussions, no further
approvals - Michael B or myself make that admin change.
