 The current project status of this is the following:

 - Github project has the rough templates with about 70% styling.
 https://github.com/karmatosed/buddypress-templatepack

 - There are a number of issues with class/id (specifically) name changes
 that now mean a whole raft of things are broken. This is JavaScript/core
 related.

 I do not feel it's patch ready whilst in such a state. It's not far off
 but it needs more hands than I have to see it through to the final
 stretch. It also needs hands that can do templates so we can create this
 patch fast. We have the wireframes, we have a lot of code, we just need
 that final push.

 The bigger question would be whether this is desirable as something for
 core. If so, it is worth the push to get it there, if not it isn't.
