 In 5021.6.patch, I obsoleted the need to juggle the filters that are added
 and removed to 'the_content'. This puts us in jeopardy of third party
 plugins that also plan on doing nefarious things with it, putting us at
 its mercy instead of having us stomp all over it. The plus side is that
 nested calls to the_content appear to work without a hitch.
