 WordPress 3.2.1, BuddyPress 1.5 on Lighttpd

 I tried registering a new user and got the activation email. However, upon
 clicking the link, I am directed to
 http://example.com/activate/?key=c8b35e526f61d4448df3d730133dcb89

 Activate your Account

 Please provide a valid activation key.
 }}}

 I try pasting the key into the field but activation still doesn't work.
 Even worse, there does not appear to be any way for an admin to force-
 activate an account.
