 It might be worth adopting the WordPress method of deleting data, and
 simply marking it as deleted rather than actually deleting the data from
 the DB.

 Adding an is_deleted column to most of the tables, and adjusting the logic
 in the queries is all it should take.

 I'm open to patching this if we think it's worth doing.
