Thanks for the info. Perhaps I should rephrase my question a little bit:

Can somebody tell me where I can find the SVN trunk of WPMU? It would
be nice to be able to download the official WPMU POT file.

I can't find any language files for the Buddypress in it's SVN, may I
conclude from that all text strings are hard coded?
