Thankyoyverymuch Mark,
I've enabled mySQL's query-cache and things are smoother but not yet enough.
Now I've to use your plugin and wp-cache and cross the fingers :)

BTW, using WP2.0, I've found another BIG query issue: the looped query
in the admin's users page, the query that COUNT the number of posts
for each user.
If you have a lot of query and users, it's gonna take a lot of time to
execute. I've removed that query but I've left the link to user's
posts.
