Any decent mail client should be using the "In-Reply-To" or "References"
headers, not the Subject, for tracking threads. Manually adding/deleting
the "Re:" in the subject will only affect a subset of users. And from
the previous replies, it will be good or bad for different people,
depending on what they're using to read messages.
In other words, just leave the subject alone, unless you have a good
reason to modify it (like replying to digests).
