It is a regular way but not for RSS feeds as explained in the little
help link at the fed validator.

I insert all my images with a plugin and the plugin uses a WP function
(I'm at work so don't have the code handy) to return the absolute path
to the image. You need to do something like that to get your feed to
validate or just enter in the absolute path and then use search &
replace if you need to update it at some stage down the road.
